A Letter from the President
The sisters of the Delta Chi chapter at the University of Central Oklahoma and I warmly welcome you. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website! We hope that you will come to a closer understanding of what our sisterhood is all about. I say closer simply because bonds like the ones found in Sigma Kappa are truly indescribable. Consistent with our Founders’ thoughts in 1874, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our values of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our organization. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility and develop in them high qualities of character. Whether you are a potential new member, a member, or alumna of Sigma Kappa, I think we can all agree that joining a sorority is exciting for many reasons. Homecoming, Spring Sing, and philanthropy events with your sisters will enhance your college experience exponentially. While all these things are fun, the thing that lasts far beyond the day that you throw your cap in the air is the friends you have made. These women are more than members of the same organization. They are the people you call when life hands you something that seems too big to get through. They are the ones who you call to celebrate the moments that seem to be your greatest achievement, all the while they encourage you to keep reaching for something even more excellent. Sigma Kappa is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime of commitment, support and opportunity awaiting you. It marks the beginning of a relationship that will last for a lifetime.
